Quilt Tech: Conquering Curves

Entry Level: Improving Beginner. You will need to be fairly confident using a sewing machine and have a couple of projects under your belt. Some patchwork/ quilting experience is helpful but not required.
Materials: Not Included: Students will need to bring fabric and thread from home or buy from the shop. Please see materials list below.
Tutor: Caitlin Lisle
Curves don’t have to be scary! In this workshop you will learn the basics of curved patchwork, including pinned and pin-free methods, and try your hand at sewing the classic Drunkard’s Path and Orange Peel blocks. You will leave with some sewn blocks and guidance on how to replicate the blocks at home.

Class Materials and Equipment
Materials are not included and you will need to bring the following with you:
Machine: You will have your own working sewing machine to bring with you. We do have a limited number of shop machines that can be borrowed. These need to be booked in advance.
Quilting cotton: 3-4 fat quarters of different quilting cottons - plain or printed.
Thread: Thread suitable for piecing. We recommend Aurifil 50wt
If you would like to buy these items from the shop we would love to help you choose although you may want to pop in before the day of the class as choosing fabric can take some time!!
