1 x 3hr Session

Number in Class: 7
Entry Level: No experience necessary - this class is suitable for complete beginners
Materials: Not included. See materials list below.
Tutor: Jemma Dell
This class teaches the simple traditional patchwork technique of hand piecing using shaped papers. The method is currently enjoying a resurgence in popularity, which is not surprising as it’s such a versatile technique. It is highly portable, a brilliant way to use up scraps, and works for a multitude of shapes and range of projects on any scale. ‘Fussy cutting’ can also be used to create a complex and striking kaleidoscope effect.
In this class you will learn to cut the papers and fabric, attach the fabric, and stitch the shapes together. We will discuss how the method can be used and different effects created. You will leave with a section of paper pieced patchwork and suggestions of how to use it next.
