Workshop. Sewing Patterns are a recent, fresh addition to the selection of pattern designers we provide at Backstitch. This UK-based Indie pattern brand, from Leeds, offers a range of classic styles which can be used over and over again. They promote ‘beautiful basics’ – a collection of staple pieces, from dresses to trousers, which will continue to stay fashionable season to season. Through their designs, Workshop. Patterns are trying to get out of the fast fashion loop, to build up a series of core pieces for your wardrobe. We recently welcomed the Friday Pattern Company at Backstitch, making space for ten elegant and comfortable designs, with another three new patterns eagerly awaited. The designer behind the Friday Pattern Company is Chelsea Gurnoe, based in Sacramento, CA. Her modern sewing patterns are minimalist and easy to sew, fun and cheeky. The Papercut Patterns Geo collection is, of course, gorgeous. This latest collection features plunging backs, elegant silhouettes, geometric influences and the superior craft for which Papercut is known. The Papercut Geo collection was influenced by rocks and all things geology; the Pinnacle Top and Sweater has a cropped, oversized fit featuring two front triangle panels, inspired by a Pinnacle, a high pointed piece of rock.
