Megan Nielsen Eucalypt Tank and Briar Jumper
I've been doing a stack more dressmaking since the shop opened. It's all the dressmaking fabric we've been getting in... gone and got me all inspired. That, and the fact that now I am the face of Backstitch not just the voice I need to look vaguely presentable each day... and 7 years of working from home has taken it's toll on my wardrobe.
I knew I wanted to make these two tops as soon as these fabrics came in. The striped chambray and the (super soft) gold ponte make a great pairing as do the Megan Nielsen Briar and Eucalypt. I can honestly say that I've been wearing the Briar pretty much every day that it is clean, and I would have been wearing the Eucalypt more too if it didn't need ironing.
Both tops came up really easily and have a lovely shape and finish - particularly the tank. I cut the front pieces of the tank on the bias to create the chevron which was all pretty straight forward.
I did try and get some shots of me actually wearing the clothes, but the whole taking pictures with tripod and remote control whilst not looking like a twit and getting decent photographs beat me this time and has been put on the back burner again. You'll just have to put up with these hanger pics.
We have a Briar class running next month which still has a couple of places on in case any of you Cambridge locals fancy beating that fear of knits!
I've nearly finished a Merchant and Mills Top 64 in this canvas so that'll be my next dressmaking post... do you think you'll see pictures of me actually wearing the top? Hmm... I wonder.
EDITED: We now have the Briar back in stock as a paper pattern.
