The word "Mandala" is from the ancient Sanskrit language. It is a circular figure that represents the universe in Hindu and Buddhist symbolism. It appears in all aspects of life, as the earth, sun and moon and as conceptual circles of friends, family and community.
As well as being a religious symbol, they’re also useful household items and can be used as wall hangings, dream catchers, pot holders, floor rugs, coasters, placemats, doilies, blankets, cushion covers…and much more!
During this class you will follow a basic mandala pattern which can be used to make any of the above. You will practice crocheting in the round and experiment with different colour combinations. These wonderful wheels are so much fun to make!
