Made by Rae have recently launched a rather delicious range of new digital women's and children's pdf patterns. The range includes dresses, tunics, tops, trousers and an expansion pack for the ever-popular Washi Dress and Tunic. The Made by Rae Washi Dress Expansion Pack is a supplement to the original Washi Dress pattern. It allows you to make a number of Washi variations using a combination of original pattern pieces and new Expansion Pack pattern pieces. Variations include linings, bows, collars, an adapted bodice and two different sleeves. Please note that the Expansion Pack pattern cannot be used without the original Washi Dress pattern. Made by Rae Washi Expansion pack collage The other new Made by Rae digital pattern designs include the Beatrix Button-Back top, the Bianca Dress and Top, the Josephine Tunic and Blouse, the Luna Pants and a Moon Pants pattern for children aged 3 to 12 years. If you've never bought and used a digital pdf pattern before, it might seem a little daunting, but as long as you remember to set your printer to print at 100% scale, and un-check the button that says 'scale to fit', it should be plain sailing! And there are so many benefits to a pdf pattern: 1. You receive the pattern immediately - we're pretty hot on our delivery, but even we can't get a printed pattern in your hands within seconds! 2. Digital patterns are cheaper than printed patterns - and no postage fee! 3. You get to print the digital pattern over and over. Yes you've got to tape the pattern together, but then you can cut out your size and muck about with alterations to your heart's content, safe in the knowledge that you can just print it out again. 4. There is a much wider selection - many patterns never get to print. You can only ever get them on download. And, many that once were in print but are no longer being printed will be available as downloads. If you feel inspired to try a digital pattern, you might like to browse other digital designers on the Backstitch website - we have a range of designs by Jamie Christina, Liesl and Co, Victory, Thread Theory, and Oliver and S children's patterns. We also offer a collection of Straight Stitch Society digital patterns for fun sewing projects including wallets, purses, bags, jewellery pouches and more. To buy a digital pattern from us here at Backstitch, you add downloadable products to your basket as usual. If you are ordering only digital patterns then you will not be charged a postage cost (obviously!) and on completion of payment you can log in to your account on the Backstitch website and click on 'My Downloadable Products' to locate the download links. You have five chances to download the PDF and you are responsible for saving it in a safe place. The document will be watermarked with your name and email address as a security measure.
